Probably a little late to get in on the winter contest, but I'm going to try. This is my first attempt at germinating a tomato, and Jay's seeds were 5/5. I did not compact the soil enough, and all but 1 had "helmet head" as Dan puts it. Needless to say, I killed a couple trying to fix them. I'm already learning, which was the goal anyway. Monday, January 19 View Page Been out of the ground for 9 days now. I think she looks pretty strong. Plan is to get her in a grow bag tomorrow or the next day. Tap root is almost to the bottom of the cup. Tuesday, January 20 View Page I believe we will have the first official pumpkin bloom of 2026 by morning. This plant has been in a McDonald's cup since Thanksgiving. Wednesday, January 21 View Page I was right. Male flower opened and we officially have a bloom in 2026. I forgot how good the blooms smell... Thursday, January 22 View Page Yohe seed is 12 days out of the ground. Playing with the light now to see what they like.
