As many of you know, sometimes life jumps in front of our pumpkin growing plans! It seemed the sensible thing to do was to take the year off. But since when is a giant pumpkin grower sensible??!! So while some of you have early starts and technical data to try to get ahead of Mother Nature, I will be staying with basics and working WITH her to see what I can do!

Of course, I'm going for round and orange, with 1885.5 Werner genetics.......with names of Rea, Wolf, Kisamore & Swain. And then a 2069 Stelts for good measure! The goal is to maintain healthy plants - grow some beautiful pumpkins - and have some fun!!

This year - not growing for competition, but for nice sized, beautiful pumpkins, to be used for commercial display - I grew 10 pumpkins. Here is Papa Rea on his old Ford tractor. He LOVES picking up pumpkins!
