Age Old Grow (12-6-6)
This is a fertilizer that growers need to become familiar with (*not sponsored by the company) as it has what I believe to be a secret ingredient in it that pumpkins need more than most growers realize… Manganese. While it does have a good balance of the major nutrients and also some minor nutrients, I think the company is under stating the Manganese that is present in the product. Now, the company is not violating label laws as the law states that the levels provided on the label are guaranteed minimums, but the actual value is very likely much higher than what is listed on the label.
Manganese is an important nutrient for pumpkins that is not talked about much and applying Manganese sulfate has shown only slight improvements based on a tissue test. However, unrelated but adding Age Old Grow the following tissue test showed a jump in manganese levels and with this being the only fertilizer added in elevated levels during the sample period compared to the other common/stander fertilizers this leads me to below that this product has high levels of Mn and this is a good thing.
There is a bloom-based fertilizer (Age Old Bloom), but the Grow is all growers need as it can be used through the entire growth cycle. I did give some to another grower doing some indoor vegetables and they said this was one of the only fertilizers that they could see a noticeable difference in plant growth so there is certainly something going on that plants like, which is why it is part of the line-up.
