My wife knocked a couple of barn swallow nest down from the rafters of the garage. They looked like a good experiment to me since I did a germination test on some pumpkin seeds from a good cross. I transplanted the germinated seeds into some pots, but filling the nests with potting soil, planting the plant in, then filling in around it with more potting mix. I'm thinking all of the bird droppings, mold spores, nutrients, etc. might give a plant a good start. In the attached photo you can see the rim of the nest inside the pot. Of course, this is just further confirmation that we're all crazy...................................
