It has been a while since my last diary post. I guess I've been dealing with the disappointment of The Slunger ending up with DMG status. Months before my season started I set the goal of having my 3 largest pumpkins totaling over 6000 pounds in combined weight. And I would have achieved that goal if it wasn't for a pin hole in The Slunger. I was (and still am) bummed out. We all work so hard for so long, that when we narrowly miss achieving a long-term goal it really hurts. Sometimes it even overshadows the fact that we just had a fantastic season. But eventually we come to grip with the fact that there is always another chance to achieve that goal next year. Like Linus famously said, �Just wait 'till next year Charlie Brown. You'll see!�
