This fall as part of my patch clean-up/prep for next year I got out my ripper shank & have ripped everything. It is good to do it now because sometimes spring weather does not cooperate. One thing I like about ripping is how it tears up tree roots which have made their way into my patch to steal my nutrients & water! I’m always surprised at how a tree that is “way over there” can grow roots into my patch.
