I always have a cup of coffee or ice cold pop at hand, unless the work is done, I'll have a few beers.

I like a glass of Barbera wine (at 5pm) from this vineyard which is right down the street from my house...

Water is the most common but Samuel Smith's Pale Ale is the most special.

Well, since money is usually low because of patch prep costs in the spring,I usually take a few 12 packs of that cheap rot gut beer, or sometimes even a few bottles of that warm MadDog wine out with me when I pollinate at 630 in the morning. After I pollinate my females Ill just sit down beside one of them and just start pounding the alcohol until I pass out. I usually wake up in the patch about 1am in the morning and stagger myself back to the house to my bed. I wake up the very next morning refreshed and ready to start the routine over again.

The best time to drink is when I am watering, pruning, or pollenating, which pretty much covers all the time I spend out there. Favorite beverage? Oh, thats easy... Ice cold Sam Adams Cherry Wheat beer. Sam Adams has a nice variety, so you cant go wrong there, but the Cherry Wheat and Cream Stoudt are two of my faves. After that, whatever the neighbor brings out with him after he gets tired of watching me work in the patch.

I take a crystal light single serving powder pack designed for 10 oz and add it to about 30 oz of water to water it down....after I'm done and facing the 1:15 min ride home I'd pick up a large decaff coffee..

One of the first things my pumpkin mentor told me was "never drink alcohol in the patch. One tends to step on things one shouldn't".

No alcohol unless a pumpkin goes down to soft spots, see diary from last year. Otherwise, its usually lemonade or iced tea during the hottest days of Summer. Like others have said, when work is done, then it's time for beer/wine.

I second the Guiness. Actually, I just finished a 10 gallon batch of stout, which is amazingly close to Guiness. I made 5 gallons of summer wheat and its been waiting for the day I will, so it's time is approaching.

I've learned not to cull vines while drinking beer. You might just cut the main vine!

Im a Dew man, but have to cut down on the sugar. Cold water has started to taste better lately to me . I do really like Green Diet tea made by Lipton, can,t tell it,s diet. But not sure about the caffine. Want to get away from that too.

I usually don't drink anything in the patch. I do take frequent waterbreaks on hot summer days.
