Home, work pressures and patch disease have caused me to give up growing those giants. I gave it my all and plan on being active in our club from a different perspective. Please mail, serious inquiries only. Dave

David it has been a hard year for a LOT of growers, me included. I had 4 great plants this year and now nothing!
I hope that instead of deciding right now to not grow anymore, that you change your mind or even take a year off before you decide for sure and work on the patch for the next year or the year after that.
It is so sad when you see the problems that so many growers are having this year and even sadder losing some of you growers who have done so much for other growers.
Whatever you decide I want to say Thank You for what you done helping me when I first started growing!

Hey Dave...Hang in there..I've kick myself in the butt many times wondering why I put myself through this...It's cause guys like you!! When everything went bad You donated seed to BP.com that made me try again...first fusaria...then the deer now the woodchucks but every time guys like you have help me out..Believe me...when I picked up golf I wanted to know why I didn't get more fishing equipment..You have been a generous grower and someone I'm proud to say I know! Thanks for everything..regardless of your decision I for one salute you! You've grown some big pumpkins in your day!

Dave, take a break over the winter. Relax for awhile and next spring when that warm sun hits you in the face tell yourself you ain't ready to throw in the towel yet. Give it another shot.

Dave, I took a hard blow on saturday, as I got over 2 inches of sideways hail, and it looked like snow on the ground. It took out about 1/3 of my leaves and turned them into coleslaw even though I have spent hundreds of $$$ on hail protection nature still got me by sending the stuff sideways from south to north. I had 18 hail storms in 2004 season, and I thought I had my guard up for this season, but it seems nature always wins...As now I am waiting for the bug and disease problems that almost always come when plants are damaged this way...Never give up just get even the next season...Happy growing, JK
