I'm not sure, but think it may be the 753 Pappas(898 Knauss x self)? I believe it was around 30% over.

The 753 Pappas was 32.27% over and the 709.5 McCallum was 34.20 % over and I have em both growing in my patch and have done the 709.5 x 753 cross.

I dont know what the heaviest pumpkin in weight was (I suppose it could have been the 1156 Larson). Percentage could be any pumpkin, cuz there are so many pumpkins being weighed and so many different ways people measure their pumpkins. Some folks measure generously, while others measure sparingly in order to have their pumpkin go over. Depends on the grower I think.

I'm looking for my 210 pound estimated pumpkin to go 700% over the charts :-)

CowD, I don't think that's always the case, especially with the pumpkins that go way over the charts. In those cases, other people will measure to see whether or not a correct measurement has been made. I mean, with the 709, just imagine the surprise of those at the weigh-off, when a pumpkin that measured, and visually looked, to be a bit over 500, weighed in at over 700 lbs! You bet there going to measure again to make sure it wasn't a mis-measurement. Just my thoughts, anyway, I know if I had a pumpkin go 30% over the charts, I'd be scrambling for the tape measure right away to re-measure the beast! It weighed HOW MUCH?!!

That is why at most weigh-offs there is one person doing the taping and an official scale foreman for the weights.
I've seen, and lately read some pretty wacky daily measurements/re-measurements that just don't add up, so, as they say the bull$#!? stops when the tailgate drops.
