caro mi.

Does anyone think theres a link between cutting off main vine at set pumpkin ? I did this this year for the first time and i got stem splits everywhere , and i have never had one before . anyone have any ideas ?? Dan

I believe there is no connection at all. It appears to me that alot has to do with growth rate. I had alot of stem splits this year myself.

thanks jim ...funny your the one that answered this question ......my stem splitters are my 710 beauchimen and my 500 beauchimen ........If that is not a coincedence i dont know what is ....lol ps: they are my biggest pumpkins too , even tho their stems split . Dan
