For the second year in a row, I've had 280 pounders at 30 days and they stopped growing (others also at about 30 days at different times of the season), skin lost that shiny luster, then rotted in a week or two. Plant was seemingly healthy, no bugs, and I don't think too wet or too dry. Any suggestions of what I may be doing wrong or the cause? Thanks in advance for comments!

if they all stop as your message seems to indicate then its got to be a problem in your soil i would think your soil could be very low or extremly high in one of the major ingredients ( n-p-k ) or even if your ph is to high problems can occur
plus the exchanges may be way off and your nutrients are being tied up the list of possibilities can go on and on any number of things can be going wrong for you
get a professional full soil test and have a professional read the results ------ may be the best money you ever spent

Hey pap- How much does an analysis generally cost? I suppose the University of Maryland would do a soil analysis for me. Kind of stupid sending it off considering I work in an analytical lab. But we are GMP and they'd never let me run forign biologicals on our equipment.

25 to 60 dollars depending on the extent of your test request

I would guess the same: soil. What about Ca levels? Too low Ca might prevent fruit growth.
