Check out what Mr.Ornge is growing http://www.bigpumpkins.com/Diary/DiaryViewOne.asp?eid=42530 It is the most beautiful 1100+ pumpkin i've ever seen. If it holds to gether it will probably be the largest european pumpkin ever grown. Hopefully it won't go light. Good Luck To Mr. orange.

Thanks for the kind words!
Just a question out of interest... if it weighs what it measures it will be the new German and the new European record but would it also be the biggest pumpkin ever grown outside North America?

Martin, You had some great diary documentation during the pollination of the 670. With 6 lobes it could be loaded with seeds. You had this plant nailed right from the beginning here are your words from April.
"The 670 Daigle 03 produced the 1101 Northrup last year. The 1101, in my opinion, is the most beautiful 1000 pounder ever grown to this date. Beautiful, dark orange color, glossy skin and very nice, round shape. I can only hope that the 670 will do just as well for me."

WOW! that is a great looking fruit...I like the measuring idea, I was going to make something like that with a big lever to measure the daily growth...just couldn't find the time to make it. Good Luck at the scale..chris

I have already wrote Martin to tell him of his great pkn., but I will add to this message thread, AWESOME PUMPKIN. Sorry to anyone who I may be offending, but this is the best looking one on the site, including the ones that Dick Wallace draws for the cartoons.

This is just a prediction but I say the seeds from Martins pumpkin will no doubt be the most popular and most grown non-proven seed next year, and probably the most grown first year seed ever grown for that matter.Gonna be a lot of heavy hitters give this seed a try I bet.

To answer your question Martin, it will be the biggest pumpkin outside of North America ever weighed. Japan's record is 967 lbs, Australia is 968 and Europe is 1036 (Spain).
