I'm very interested in how this began. I know Howard Dill developed it somehow. But how? What did he do? And was this an existant veriety before or was it created? If there is a bigP historian here that be awesome! THanks for the help!

Hey Alan, do you have any info other than the basics on the 900 Lyons Squash? From what I have seen and experienced, it is the grand melting pot of the squash and pumpkin genetics as well as all the stuff in between. Its offspring range from the flame orange of seeds like the 567 Momberts to the dark green of seeds like my 895 and of course everything squmpkin. They also range all over the chart in terms of heavy/light to the chart. Were the parents of it a sort of a pinacle of the Dill and Gancarz lines? Just curious.
