In my patches I have noticed a variation of different styles of plants and pumpkins. My big boys, the 411 Perrault plant and 812 Landry were started and grown at the same time in the same soil, under the same conditions. The 812 had big deep dark leaves and vines, with a green squash or pumpkins. Females had football shaped green ball. Now the 411 Perrault had big light green leaves, thick heavy yellow vines, and the females were round and yellow, producing round heavy flat bottomed deep orange beauties. Would this be genetics or soil conditions from plant to plant?

Last year one patch had round orange pumpkins and the plants were well away from each other. A patch about 50 meters away had all football shaped yellow mature pumpkins. Genetics do play a role I know but could soil effect this too? How does a round orange 812 Landry Pumpkin pass on a green 500 Horlings squash/pumpkin. Nothing was the same really with my plant according to the pictures of the 812. Just another topic starter I guess. I am really bored in college Haha!

Kyle you should be spending more time leaning against a keg and talking to hot chicks ;-D

At college I got to much spare time (4 hours straight today). I am partying at night, and there's not a lot of girls at farm school, so I get these random thoughts I had from the past and just ask them. Trust me Orangeneck if there were kegs here (there coming)I'd be there and if there WERE actually any hot chicks :( And you turned out just fine your growing AGs! Grow em big guys!

Kyle, As you get older your definition of "hot chicks" will change. Don't be too picky that is what the kegs are for.
