Congratulations to Doug Heathman!
Doug broke the Kansas record with a 619.5 lb Pumpkin. It was weighed last Thursday at the Kansas State fair weigh off. The cross is 835 Tanner x open. The old record was 402 lb set in 1994.
you can see a picture of it here: http://www.bigpumpkins.com/displayphoto.asp?pid=3857&gid=-3085
Congratulations again Doug.

Way to go Doug! Cool name by the way. That's a nice looking pumpkin. You should be proud of it.

As a native Kansas, I thank you for adding a couple of hundred pounds to the Kansas state record! 402 was embarassing. Now, let's see if you can get it up to 1000! Them guys there in Iowa do perty good. Ain't no reason why Kansans can't whoop their behinds! Congrats!!

That would be "a native OF Kansas." Which would also explain why I don't type or spell so good sometimes...

That's great. Kansas needs a boost. They can whoop up on anyone given the experience, the right seed, the weather and just plain luck. :)
