Congrats to you guys! I really wanted to be there, but the wife didn't get home from work until after 6 last night. I could have caught the last hour, but I have to leave for Washington, DC in a few minutes, so I really couldn't be out 'till midnight anyway. Brooks, 845! Nice job man! Don, 838? I would have sworn your biggest was crowding 800 back when we had our patch visits! Still, it's a new official state record! Great job! Now if mine is still solid at Canfield, maybe I can join you guys in putting our little valley on the pumpkin growing map. Well, have to hit the road. I just love driving 10-12 hours round trip for a 20 minute service call :(

Congrats Brooks and Don....
I placed 2nd in the 200lb class...I was shocked!!!! The other 2 did really well...I'm happy with the results....I'm still at the learning stage, but there's always next year, and that's my goal, to get up there and maybe entice the women to compete....heck if i can do it, then anyone can....lol.....
See Ya next year......

Hi It's me !!!!! The true Young'in, yep I am older than Christy ;)but still very young at heart and giant pumpkins. I survived Barnesville and now have an established personal best of Verhoff 691 she is (F)Skinner909 X (M)Calai 1074. She weighed light but she made it! I think she was 17th over all in the king catagory. there was lots of competition I had heard there were 12 more pumpkins and over 10,000 more lbs of pumpkin this year, so it was a good showing. 15 pumpkins over 700lb. Calai 1074 weighed in at 481, she was sure pretty, brightest shiniest orange I've seen. Everyone asked what was used to shine her up, nothing but bleach and water, I'm hoping to use her seed next year. I'll update my diary so I won't go on & on here. But Great showing to everyone in Barnesville!! congrats to all !!!and thanks Christy for asking :) Michelle Verhoff
