This is the first year for 3partners and myself growing Giant Pumpkins. We want to be at Topsfield for the weighoffs on Sat., Oct 1. Only one of us has become a member of the $15 annual Giant Pumpkin group. Can we all observe the weighoff going in on his coattails or will each of us have to become a member. You only need to be a member to be eligible for NEPGA prize money. The rest of the prize schedule is supported by the Topsfield Fair itself and other sponsors. If one of your "partners" is a member you guys are all set! If you win an NEPGA portion of the prize schedule the "member" will get the money, if he/she wants to split it up afterwards thats up to him/her. :). If you all show up together with the pumpkin (same vehicle) you can ride your partners coat tails to get in to the event arena.
The application for the weigh off is posted within the NEPGA newsletter that people should be recieving about this time. If you need more information you can contact me via E-mail and I will provide you with my cell number to answer any additional questions you may have.
