Hello pumpkin growers and pumpkin lovers,

As some of you may know, we’re making a documentary about my dad, Bill Foss (BillF), and his passion for growing giant pumpkins. (http://www.quantumpetshop.com/projects/pumpkin.asp)

Its weigh off time and he’s doing very well this year and he’s already met one of his goals. Now he’s hoping to win the VOW and beat the MN state record (1083.5 lbs). This is great, but it would be really cool if we could also get some broader coverage from other weigh offs from across the country/continent/world.

If you have a video camera (or a friend or relative with a camera) and are willing, please consider taping some of the weigh offs. We would love to see your tape and maybe even use it in our documentary. We are especially interested in any video of any new record breakers, be it state or world records. (Is there a universal record yet?)

We are also interested in photos of record breakers and big festivals.

Also, if you can, let us know of any TV coverage of giant pumpkins or weigh offs, especially record breakers. Please send us the station, date and time of report (and reporters name if possible) and a short description so we can contact the new station regarding the report.

I will be at the Stillwater weighoff in 2 weeks, I don't know if you'll be there or not but if you are and need any help with the anything, I can pretend to be technologically educated for the day.

FYI, I will be in Anamosa IA this weekend, Oct 1st, and I Stillwater Oct 8th. With my Dad (BillF) of course, and his pumpkins. But please, bring your cameras! Be sure to say hi.
