Scarification (Advanced Seed starting method)
I know this is a little late in the season to be asking this but it crossed my mind. What is your thoughts on the A.S.S. method. I have used this method for all my plants in the past two years of growing, and it has worked really good for me. My record germination is in less than 48 hours, with this method. With the natural seed coat start it took over 7 dayz. But does this method effect plant growth or pumpkin growth in the end? Is it really worth risking scratching the embryo just to get a couple dayz germination? And are big ones produced using this method as well or it probably doesn't even have any effect in the end? Thanks, kyle.
