For every one that has been through this upcoming routine for years to those who are newbies and are about to experience a weigh off for the first time I bid you all good luck! All those hot days of burying vines, spraying, watering, pruning are about to pay off. It really is not about how big your pumpkin is but the fun surronded with growing it. The imprompto patch tours, the picnics, the lets just have a beer and walk around the patch. It gets stressfull sometimes with these huge orange globes but one needs to put it into perspective as this time grows near. Bask in the flash bulbs and camera lenses clicking away for all it's worth! We have worked our buts off for this day. But also remember these are only organic chunks of almost compost. If you find yourselve starting to have less fun and have it seem more like work, it's time to step back and take a breath. So good luck to all, the picking begins for me and my friends at 8:00 A.M. Friday morning. Hope to see many of you over at the N.E.P.G.A. Topsfield Fair weigh off Saturday morning. May your pumpkin weigh over the charts!!

Good luck all at Topsfield!

BTW. Great showing at the Big E. I went yesteray. Steve Connoly 1216.5 new record and Don Langevin for second at just over 1000. The look on people's faces when they came around the corner to see these monsters was priceless. Congrats!

We loaded mine tonight. We sequence loading. The last two load tomorrow evening. Each evening has been a fun time. We are headed, for Altoona, Pa., with five growers and nine pumpkins, three long gourds, a tomato or two and a huge sunflower head.

Good luck to everyone at their weigh-off! We have no entry this year but its little matter having been eclipsed by the fact we're conducting our first ever GPC sanctioned weigh-off.

Be careful, be heavy, & have fun!
