I'd like to your hear opinions. This year I let my secondaries grow about 10' long on each side of the main(I did let some of the seconaries closer to the fruit grow longer). I only let the main continue to grow past the fruit(for the most part). I'm planning my pumpkin growing area for next year. I'm thinking of letting my secondaries go to 15' long on each side of the main, to provide more leaf surface area. I think I'll be pruning off every other secondary.
Do you think 15' secondaries are too long, and would be inefficient?
Also, I'd like to here how long you growers let your secondaries get, before terminating them.
Thanks.

Doug, I let mine go 12' on each side but that is mainly due to the size of my patch (36 X 25) and most likely would let secondaries go about 15' on each side if I had more room. I manage to let the first few secondaries get about 20' long and trim the rest.
