Napa Valley, CA

The Napa Valley has long been famous for its fine wine..... we can now add giant pumpkins to our claim to fame list.
At the Elk Grove Weigh-Off on Saturday, Napa growers took first, second and third place.
1. Leonardo Urena - 1200.5 lbs.
2. Pete Glasier - 1195.5 lbs.
3. Jose Ceja - 1110 lbs.

Leonardo's 1200.5 is a new California State Record
Congratulations Leonardo, Pete and Jose !!

We still have 3 weigh-offs left in CA..... Auburn, Half Moon Bay and Borchard.
There are still a few big ones lurking out there and I would not be surprised to see yet another
California State Record set before its all over.
Hmmm, if someone out there still has one left on the vine that tapes out to a 1250 lb. weight..... and goes 18% heavy......
could be a very interesting year !

All three top pumpkins at Elk Grove beat the previous Cali record of 1105 held by Greg Stucker, also from Napa.

These guys and their pumpkins really were awesome! Nice guys with very impressive pumpkins...grown here in California!!!

Boom Boom.....did not have my best year. It would take more than 2 of my pumpkins to equal one of theirs !
