This year seemed to produce some big pumpkins, a new world record(Will it be broken this weekend?), and many pumpkins over a thousand pounds. So the question is just how big is your pumpkin and how many pounds heavyier than last season. Do you think this was a good season. Lets all contribute some data and than we can figure out just how good of a season we had.
I'll start:
739lbs and increse of 127lbs. A good growing season indeed

Add your data so we can all see how we all did in 2005!

I just got off the phone with my dad who weighed my pumpkin at a local farm. It weighed in at 534 lbs. Ott said it was approximetly 225 lbs. So it was very close. This was also my second year and my second PB! Last year was 137 lbs this year 534 lbs, so an increase of 397 lbs! I also have grown 20 pumpkins (All Atlantic Giants) off of 5 plants. The 198 Landry seed got me a plant that had a 49 ft main vine, and streched 39 ft across from secondary tip to other side. I guess that means the plant size was 1911 sq feet. The plant also produced 13 pumpkins, 10 of which are over 50 lbs with a probable 200 lbs sitting in the middle. It's pretty sweet. I guess that is my season in a post. It was a big achievement for me even though I lost my big green one that was on pace for 1000 lbs then deformed, rip open and rotted unfortunetly, but there's always next year, and I learned a lot from everyone! Thanks for answering all my questions and comments as rookie as some of them were. Good luck everyone and have a great off-season!

From what y'all have said here so far is great. A firt year 1000lber. Congrats, plenty of new PB. Lets keep compling onto this list. I am being to notice a trend: the learning curve on how to grow a big pumpkin has shot up in the last 6 or so years.

This Year was mine and Pappy's 2nd year at growing....we had 3 pumpkins compared to 1 last year that made it to weight in at Barnesville....The 3 this year were 417lbs, 314lbs and 195lbs that placed 2nd in a weight category...Last year our pumpkin's weight was 260lbs...So far we keep going up on weight...But we are still learning and experimenting.....Thanks for all the help....
