All seeds & backgrounds.
Growers are starting to dry seeds now. Depending on how they dry (and shop for the holidays) some will be done in 3 weeks. Many will then test germinate some seeds. Then we need to buy bubble pack envelopes, stamps, coin envelopes, lables, etc.
So somewhere between November 1st & January 1st most folks will be ready to start mailing seeds out. At that time, occasional posts will start too appear on the Seed Exchange board. That is the time to send a private email to the person offering seeds.
Your private email would include a personal intorduction (who you are, where you grow, years growing, etc). Be honest & sincere & don't forget to include postage.

next biggie a better request from growers on this site just might be to ask for their opinions on good seed genetics and id bet a lot of them would get good seed stocks to you a large vined plant is of little importance when discussing seed selection huge pumpkins have been grown on tree stump vines as well as pencils

Dick...you are "right on"! Big pumpkins can(and do) come from little seeds and skinny vines. Big vines and big seeds do not guarantee a big pumpkin! Those of us who have grown for a few years have learned the hard way.
