I took my pumpkin (366) to the SJPumpkin Show yesterday for their annual weigh in. While I was there a fellow pulls up with a pumpkin in a motorcycle trailer. He gets in on the scale and it weighed 817 besting the New Jersey record by 1 pound, however since this is a non-sanctioned event I was told that he would not be given the new record. He should have driven it to Altoona I guess. BTW the pumpkin was grown from an 845 Bobier.

If the scale was certified and there were witnesses. It is a state record. GPC sanctioning has nothing to do with state records.

The Department of weights and measure certified the scale and there were witnesses (such as myself) and digital photos were taken as well. Maybe we have a new record then!! Just a higher bar for me to aim at...lol.

Hi mudcat, Was that the Millvile Pumpkin Show? I would have gone if I knew about it sooner. Salem,NJ also had a show on Sunday, But I couldn't make that one either. I have not herd of any weights from their show. Bad year for me (220) but I have a large one still growing on the vine. Maybe I'll see you next year at the SJPumpkin Show.
