I was wondering who the grower is in W. V. who grew the big one there this year. Anyone know anything about him or if he comes in here to bigpumpkins? What seed did he grow it on?

thomas,scott wotring grew the new state record it weighed 1157lbs,it was off of a holland seed 1029 i beleive, he lives in aura in preston county west virginia it was his second or third year growing,i think his cousin posted a message or two but i dont beleive scott comes on bp,you can see his punkin in my diary as he weighed it in altoona pa was the second largest there next to larry checkons i felt pretty good i got to see the world record broken and the wv state record broken within minutes of each other!

It was a good year for WV growers. The state record was broken 3 times. Don Chambers aka Perriman did it first in Barnsville with an 838, which officially put the 790 pound record to bed. My 1095, weighed in at Canfield, overtopped that. Then Scott Wotring smashed us both in Altoona with his 1157.
As I understand it, Don will not be growing next year, but has weighed in a 1019 DMG in the past. It would be great to see Keith and Robert both kick in 1K plus next fall!
Come on boys...GROW, GROW, GROW!

monty if the god lords willing and the creek dont rise i will make the 1000lb mark i know you two are lonly there and heck i have it on good knowledge robert will be well prepared seed wise this coming year so maybe we both will give ya a run have a good fall prep and ill be talking with ya soon keith

This was Scott's 3rd year growing pumpkins, i think. He doesn't come to the site here. I'm not sure what seed he used for his pumpkin but I can ask him. He does live in Aurora, WV.
