I really liked the posts on best looking pumpkin and grower of the year, but we forgot this question.
What seeds so you think the next world record pumpkin will come from in 2006.
My answer would be 1068 Wallace,1104 Hester, and a come back from the 842 Eaton.

1370 Rose. It will likely be heavily planted next year. It performed very well this year. The 1068 Wallace also. Don't count out the 500 Wallace either.

There is no way you can overlook the 1420.5 LaRue, the Checkon 1354 and the 1370 Rose. Look at what came out of them this year. Also numerous seeds have to be out there and available from the Eaton 1446 and Larue 1420.5 crosses that were made or attempted by at least 20 growers or so. Time marches on and so there can't be that many Bobier 723s left nor can there be many of the Beachy 1097.5 seeds either. Try to find an 846 Calai or an 842 Eatons, not many left.

I gotta 842 lub ;-),but i dont think the world record will be coming out of my patch anytime soon though.
I really like the 723 Bobier x sibb, Bill Bobier has done this year on two pumpkins he grew this year,I look for that seed to produce some monsters, espically if he,and Im sure he will cross the two sibbs from both pumpkins in '06 this year,(If he doesnt do it I will, lol If i can get the seeds)...... so it would look like this 1151.4 Bobier'05 x 1123.5 Bobier 05 = ??????? '06
1151.4 '05' Bobier(723 Bobier x sibb) x 1123.5 Bobier'05' (723 Bobier x sibb)
WOW!!!!!!!

I did a 723 Bobier X sibb cross in 2003. I have a few seed left if anyone wants to plant it. 512 Webster '03 = 723 Bobier x sibb geo.

I'd say any of the seeds listed depending on who grows them, the 1370, 1354, and 1068 will definitely be up there, and there are a lot of new crosses that could grow some impressive pumpkins. I've got my eye on the 1200 Pugh, 1407 Wolf, and 1233 Reiss, among others.

Due to its popularity and wide planting next year id say the 1370. I also think the 1200 Pugh will be a good seed.

it will possibly come from a 842-1068 cross that went down at over 1300 lbs in the third week of august this summer
actually any one of the seeds mentioned have a good chance of reaching pumpkin glory
a lot depends on the grower, weather conditions, soil makeup and that little thing called luck
i would not hesitate to plant any of them
