Did this ever happen to you before? As my son was cleaning out the inside of his pumpkin today, he noticed that one seed had sprouted and a second one, not only sprouted, but it grew about 3 inches and roots were about 3 inches also. Just wondering if anyone ever heard of this before.

Too many times. Warm storage conditions have sprouted up to 70% on us some years. Cooler temps this Oct have resulted in fewer but we still had quite a few in our only survivor.

Wow, I didn't know this was so common. 70 percent. What you said makes a lot of sense. Good luck with your remaining seeds. My son wantes to plant one from his pumpkin to see how it will grow next season. Thanks for the info.
