One of the things that a lot of new growers have problems with is germination. You do not want to have to figure out your soil was to wet, or to cold with your best seeds, specially if you are a new grower, those seeds where hard to come by, right? So, here is my offer. I have hundreds of seeds from my own AGs that will never be grown because they were open pollinated, or the cross was not good, etc. If you would like a dozen or so seeds just to practice your germination technique this winter (a wonderful past time, been doing it each winter for the last 4, and will again this winter) then let me know. Cost is a SASBP.

Also, if you are starting a club, or know a lot of new growers that need seeds, let me know, I am sure I can send at least a hundred your way.

Owen, if you wish, you send some my way, I would integrate them on my website seed offer, from where I've a lot of requests.

Owen & Brad, thank you! Would this be the birth of the European Seed Outlet?

Hans-Werner, My intent is not to use your website to distribute my seeds yearly. However, if I can get some seeds from pumpkins that would never be grown into a new growers hands, or to a new group needing a lot of seeds, then I will be happy to do so.

Owen, sorry for my mistake. If you don't wish that I distribute your seeds, I'll not do it. I don't care. I have enough seeds to fill the seed requests I got. And the people are happy to get my seeds, as Hans Feddersen, growing a 441 out of one of my cross first year. But I suppose you think I would get rich. Or is it the same story as with the European website, where is also no cooperation, whatever I'll do to force Big Pumpkin Growing in Europe, there's obviously no interest by the other Growers. Everyone is playing his own music, in other words, some of them kicking against my shinbone.

HW, my intent was to give new growers or new clubs that needed a lot of seeds at one time that did not need to be of the highest quality the opportunity to get some. Like I said to practice germination, share to many potentially new growers of a club, etc. I thought you intended to give me a hand with that.

I do not have a problem with you starting a seed distribution website in Europe, that is a very good thing to do. I just prefer to trade and share my better seeds myself.

As far as your website goes, I gave my input, and also compiked lists of top 10 pumpkins grown in Germany and top 10 squash grown Europe wide. It sounds like you have a chip on your shoulder, and it has spread to this post that I made to try an assist others.

To all, my initial offer still stands.

Owen,
If you still have seeds, the New York State Giant Pumpkin Growers Association would enjoy you seeds as part of our seed distribution for our members.

A very good thing Owen offers here. This season was my first year and the plants I got out of 15 seeds I put in the soil (only 4 plants!) were just picked by chance, not by myself. It is a great advice to remind newbies like me that there are ways to practise and better one`s germination results. I have one or two hot seeds for next year already and don`t want to spoil them and I am lucky enough to have a few hundred good seeds from my smaller pumpkins of the 300 lbs range to use for practise. It is without doubt important to improve one`s germination technique if the results are as bad as mine were. Winter is a good time for this. Let`s just work on this issue, so we all got something to do and don`t have to argue in the winter months.
