I was shopping online for a book for my wife and I was going to get some gardening books for myself, but I don't have a clue what books are good without leafing through them, and you can't do that online. Besides Don Langevin's books on pumpkin growing, can anyone recommend any? I'm looking for books on soil, composting, general gardening, or anything that you liked. Thanks, Alan

One book I would recommend is "Start with the Soil" written by Grace Gershuny and published by Rodale. It covers many of the basics of improving your soil. That is where it all starts.

Thanks everyone. Most of these books are available through our library. I've got them on hold and look forward to some good reading. Alan
