We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all of you with your prayers, thoughts, best wishes and kind words for dad. This surgery has 'played' on his mind since Spring and as some of you posted, he was fortunate enough to wait until the pumpkin season was over. You know he could not miss out on a growing season after all these years! He's still bound and determined to grow his first 1,000 pounder and maybe 2006 will grant him a nice big, heavy AG, as 30 years ago, in 1976, he grew the largest in Canada @ 336 lbs. The help he may need to know from you is for example, if he had one plot set aside for 6 plants to focus on - what would be the six seeds to go with? He does not have 723, 845 Bobier, 846 Calai, 1260 Weir, 801 Stelts or even an 810 Dill (imagine). So, these seed can be eliminated. This should produce some very good reading for dad when he gets home. Dad is still in ICU but slowly coming around each day. Thanks again to all of you. Giant Pumpkin Growers are the Best!

I would bet my bottom dollar if Howard wanted and would grow it one, of the very scarce 1354 Checkon's, would appear. I would bet another bottom dollar that another handfull, of the world's finest seed, would appear just, for the asking. Growing no seed that produced less than a 1400 pound fruit would be a possible goal. Go for it. You have a lot of great friends.

I'll make some recommendations, but only if they don't go in a certain patch next year :)

I'd like to suggest giving the 670 Daigle a good spot. I'm sure you're already thinking of giving the 802 some care again, and how about the 775 Dill as well? Coincedence that these are my three top choices, not one bit!

Get well soon, Mr. Dill! You gotta keep growing pumpkins. About which seeds to grow, if you've got one, why not a 1068 Wallace? That seed has certainly shown tremedous success this year. And if you can get one, definitely grow the 1354 Checkon. Yours truly,

Cameron Carnegie
