I need help i have money but i dont get the auction i thought it was bid and buy not pay 120dollars per seed in the lot thats is what i need to have explained in simple terms what a lot is and if i bid is it a single price for one lot.lets say tracy bids 200dollars on one lot does she if she wins get the whole lot or does the money only cover one seed in a four seed lot which would make the price skyrocket on my part also what is this about choosing not to get the second seed im just confused anyone who can help me understand auctions will be thanked bye me lol

Lisa is correct. On the multiple lots, the winner decides whether to take one or all. If the winner chooses just one, the next lowest bidder takes it at the last bid they tendered. Therefore being second or sometimes even third lowest bidder can really pay off. But it can also leave you high & dry if the top bidder takes all. It can go either way.

Some lots are a single set of multiple seeds...some lots are multiple sets of single seeds...some lots are multiple sets of multiple seeds...some lots are a single set of a single seed....doesn't that clear it all up...clear as mud. LOL Peace Wayne

Curvy,
We didn't try to make this confusing. But if I did, let me try to explain in greater detail.
Here is the link to the full description of each lot for tonigh. You might want to print this & keep it handy during the auction & this explaination.
http://www.bigpumpkins.com/Attachments/CTAuctionNight2.pdf
There will be 23 "lots" tonight. A "lot" is a bidding round & might involve 1, 2 or 3 winners each collecting a "set" of that lot. In a lot with multiple sets the highest bidder gets to decide if they want just one or all of the offered sets. If the winner declines to take more than 1 set, then the second highest bidder gets to decide & so on.
Lot 1 (1236 Eaton) is three (3) sets of one (1) seed each. lot 2 (Daletas Package) is two (2) sets each containing three (3) seeds. Lot 3 (Squash) is one (1) set of six (6) seeds. Lot 4 (Frantz) is one (1) set of three (3) seeds. Lot 5 (842 Eaton) is one (1) set of one (1) seed. etc...
As you can see, the more proven (and costly) seeds are usually sold alone in single sets. But as can also be seen, the 1016 Daletas (very HOT seed) is being offered with other seeds from Steve.
Newer seeds (or those more easily obtained) are dontaed to us in larger quantities. Rather than being rude & declining to accept seeds we try instead to move multiple sets in one lot to save time & generate more revenue for the club. We still end up having to decline some donations.
We also place some seeds into the clubs "seed bank" in the hopes that at some point they'll throw a big fruit & command a premium at auction. Sort of like a speculative real estate or stock purchase you might say! LOL
I hope this helps.

Most of the confusion that I saw last night revolved around people blurting out corrections, comments, and a couple typos.......given the opportunity the auction people (the ones running it) would have likely caught any typos or errant bids in due time but with 5 or six others correcting/commenting it sure got confusing. Understand that these auction chats are all logged...any problems not immediately resolved can/will likely be resolved in short order. (and there's proof in type! (that was for the pumpkin lawyers that show up unfortunately) ). Let the auctioneers run the auction.
