Brigitte, I cant download that because Im on dial up and it will take me till next friday to see it, but if thats that house in ohio with a bunch of lights with music they showed it on the news tonight and the guy that ownes the house shut the light show down. The news people said people would stop their cars in the middle of the road to watch it and had trouble because of it. A emergency vehicle had a real bad emergency and couldnt get through because of the stopped traffic.

I'd like to know how the guy syncronized & choreographed the music & lights. Also what kind of lights are they? I would imagine that he has speakers outside but the movie clip I saved of it is obviously a studio dubbing. i'll bet the guy is a roadie or a some kind of music industry techie. Wicked cool at any rate.

Awesome clip! If you want to so something similar, all you need is a computer and a whole lot of time on your hands. http://www.animatedlighting.com/pdf/sync_lights_music_effects.pdf

Standard lights. He used a computer program,PLCs(programable logic controllers),and solid state relays. No speakers outside,,he loves his neighbors. He uses a low power FM radio transmitter for the music. He is a engineer.Carson Williams Mason Ohio ........................................................... BUT,,anyone with a logical mind and the ability to count watts can do this. If you live in warm land,,get a air conditioner to blow on the controllers. They will get hot! McP is right. A couple of decent PLC boards would be enough for the amount of lights he had there. I've worked on installing and programming Alerton PLC's using VisualLogic for zero energy homes and it's not that difficult to learn.
Most of the boards I've worked with had high current binary outputs so there would be no need for an external solid state relay. PLC's aren't cheap but they're well within the realm of reality. If anyone decides they'd like to do something similar themselves, I'd love to help! Looks like a blast.
