- 7 here tuesday night high of 5 wednesday...wednesday night hit -10 now it is thursday night and feels like spring at 20 degrees...hopefully all of the bad bugs an powdery mildew and all other diseases will be erradicated, as this was the coldest we have been in 7 years here for this time of year...just wait until january for round 2 of the disease/pathogen/bug extermination cold that I think will be coming for us in colorado..But I think beet up north is getting it far worse in Wyoming...Stay warm, Happy Holidays to all..JK

This morning was a balmy -6. Sure beats the -19 we had 2 days ago. We have around 8" of snow on the ground as well.
No frost in the ground yet because of that snow. I want some frost to break up the soil compaction in the patch from hauling out the pumpkins last fall.

That's a good point, even though it may be super cold
outside, if your patch is under snow your soil isn't
"benefiting" from those temperatures.
