Those are likely made by the grower, to please his kids. Look up papier mache masks or just face masks. You make the mold on someone's face.
If you should be thinking big like a five hundred pound face you must still make the mold...most likely, in a huge block, of wood, using a chain saw and sculpting tools.
There are inexpensive light weight plastic molds available for small gourds, cukes and perhaps an apple. They show up in the spring seed catalogs or garden supply catalogs.

Id think even a small pumpkin like the ones moon posted about would take a heavier mold then paper mache wouldnt it? Id think like maybe a lead mold maybe,?
