The Direct Root Feeding Technique is a different way of plant feeding, which maybe is not used (or maybe is of some) of the AG growers.

For detailed explanation see:

Hristo,

Good work my friend. Your English is fine especially for self taught.

I have always felt that a soiless (hydrponic) growing situation would prove favorable for AGs if the obvious mechanical challenges could be overcome. Due to space constraints I may be forced to use hydroponics in 2006.

Ovet this winter I hope to engage you in some direct email correspondence.

Another grower who frequents this website & shares this interest is Jason whose screen name is "giantvegenetics" or something like that.

Hristo, your English is fine.

I've seen some TV footage (BBC) on a professional grower in Ireland who grows everything through DRFT. (just not pumpkins)

If you want to do that successfully, you are going to need to do all of the roots on a plant and not just one. There are a lot of roots on a pumpkin.

He grew potatoes that way and they came out nice and clean.

He did not use any soil at all. He actually lives on the coast and has no soil, just rock. He grows them in a greenhouse. Everything looked very green and healthy.

Hi Steve and Brad,
:-) I think that my English is not so good, because under DRF I did not mean only hydro growing, but combined growing - to take the best of both ways - hydro and soil growing. The hydro part is to correct some faults of the soil - like to supply FAST some nutrient(s) that is in shortage in the soil.

That's what I saw on your website and it is interesting.

I'm just guessing if you were to test your soil ahead of time and add what is missing ahead of time that you won't need DRF.

I think the effect of DRF would be higher if you used it on more roots. That's just my guess from what I have read and seen on it. But, by the sounds of it, you have done more research than me. Just trying to help :)

Lots of luck and keep us posted.

I understand Hristo & I like the idea. My interest in a full soiless system is driven byt a friend with soil borne disease pathogens that might not be "controllable" in the traditional sense. I am also motivated by my own lack of good growing space & want to try a minature AG plant grown hydroponically.
