I am saddened and angry. May God be with their families and rest the souls of those who passed away. It would have been better if they waited until they had the story straight before telling the family. I blame the press. They are vultures and insensitive. Putting a camera in the face of someone grieving is cold at best!

I was so saddened to hear the news on my way in to work today. I don't know how they coulda screwed up like that. I said a prayer for the families, and the survivor.

I heard last night that you know some of the guys and their
families. I am so sorry for your loss and theirs. I know that I was sickened by the turn of events from incredible celebration to a hideous tragedy. I can't even imagine what the families and friends must be going through. I will pray for the families and for the young man that is still alive. Kathy

Horrible accident or company neglect. Coal mining is one of the world's most dangerous jobs. Over 25 miners were lost in the Westbury mine many years ago. The mine never re-opened. My heart goes out to the families of the dead miners. What a horrible death.

In 1922, 77 were lost here in a methane explosion at the Reilly mine which was located just 1/2 mile from our home. There were just 12 survivors.
