The convention will take place March 4-5 in Niagara Falls Ontario at the Sheraton Fallsview Hotel and room reservations can be made by calling 1-800-618-9059 and the group code is IGPG06

I was unaware that the name of the convention was the 2006 Giant Vegetable Growers Convention. Has this always been the name and if so why are the discussions limited to just pumpkins???

That's funny. When I called to reserve our room the girl who took my call (Tina?) said she had it listed as "the Pumpkin Convention"!

We both had a good laugh. What is this Vegetable stuff?

Now don't forget that the 20th is the "Club Floor". Be there or be lame.

The committee decided to have the name changed to Giant Vegetable Growers Convention. But as the reservations at the hotel were made early last year, their information does not reflect that change.

10:30 – 11:45 > GPC Awards, Presentation of 2006
>Top Pumpkin > Grower Orange Jacket, Short Q&A with Larry
>Top Squash > Grower Green Jacket, Short Q&A (TBD)
> Misc. GPC awards, Q&A with the GPC.

12:00 pm > ‘A Cut Above” Steakhouse Lunch Buffet (included in Package) Meet & Greet during lunch.

1pm – 1:30 > Meet & Greet, Club presentations. Durations for each club (TBD) Approx. 10 to 15 minutes with the floor. During three or more separate time periods of the convention.

1:30 – 2:15 pm > Agro K, with Craig Lemke.

2:15 - 3 > Andy Wolf, Soil Reports

3 – 3:15 > Break

3:15 – 4 > Steve Jepson, Organic & Conventional Fungal Controls.

4 – 5:30 > Seed Bazaar, Club meetings & presentations. Durations TBD as above.

Is there a different amount to pay if using American funds? Or do we pay using the 75 CDN and 35 CDN?

Quite frankly I think Giant Vegetable Seminar Rocks ! I'd love to see more on giants other than pkns and squash. Like in Guelph years back when we could eklect which seminar topics we could attent and Richard Smith taught us about "other giants"....

Brigitte, the prices are in CDN funds. When using a credit card it will charge you the amount in US funds with the current exchange rate. As of 11am on Sunday the seminar would cost this in US dollars $64.36=75.00 CDN $30.03=$35.00 CDN Hope that helps.
