This year in August we will be having our very first European Patch Tour. It will be a one patch tour due to the very long distances that separate all of the growers here. Some will have to travel overnight just to come. At the present time we are still trying to work out the details to make this patch tour special so that the commraderie and friendshp that the U.S. and Canadian clubs have shown us, is something that we can emulate to help us become better growers, and compete with you.
So, let me get to the bottom line up front. I would like to be able to present as many growers as possible that come with a "door prize" for making the effort to travel so far. What am I looking for? Anything that represents your associations, groups and organizations.
Some examples:
Bumper stickers from your group Hats with your logo One of your groups T-Shirts A one year agreement to send a grower your news letters Seed membership plan (I know that is a bit much to ask for) A Don Langevin autographed book (Ok, now I am really pushing it..LOL) ANYTHING that you can think of, that is from the U.S. or Canada, and represents your group. Note: I will personally pay for any postage incurred for your generosity.
I am trying to make this first ever patch tour in Europe a special event, and you and your group will be appropriately recognized at our event.
None of these items will be for my personal use as I am excluded from any raffle we have as I am the host.
I thank you in advance for your consideration.
Regards, owen olsen

Dwaine, it doesn't happen often, but I am speechless. Thank you for your very generous offer. You have mail.
Dick, I have made a note and will get back with you in the spring, thank you and the SNGPG for your support, it is appreciated.

I hope you all can make a video of some of the events. A lot of us over here would like to see it.
Who knows, maybe Joel Holland would be interested in including portions of it in his annual video next year. Just a thought.

Great idea Cliff. I just happened to have a digi-cam and intended to do that and send a copy to all of the growers that come to this patch tour, I had not thought of Joel Holland though.
thanks for the idea! owen

I want to thank PumpkingirlLisa and the Dills, Dwaine Gipe and Dick Wallace with the SNGPG for actively support our first annual European Patch Tour.
I am still hoping that I can get one or two more sponsors that will help make this event special for those that attend.
Another idea has come up, do you have a poster or event you would like to get more interest in? There will be a captive audience at our tour, and your poster or banner will be displayed in a place of honor, e-mail me if you are interested.
What about your gardening product or website? I will ensure thatyour product/website are displayed and mentioned as well.
As you can see, I have never hosted such a pumpin event as this before, and need your help to make it successful.
thanks again to all the above mentioned for stepping forward.
