A wave of animal cruelty has the World Wildlife Federation up in arms. On the first day of this New Year a lion was found viciously mauled. A week later, a Bengal tiger was discovered horribly beaten. While the lion only had fresh wounds, the tiger appears to have been suffering regular beatings for years.
Just seven days after that, a colt was found battered. People at the scene said it kept muttering something about not getting enough protection. Hours ago, Denver authorities found another horse, this time a bronco, wandering the streets. The horse was not physically injured, but quite dazed and confused. When asked about the incident, the hapless horse said, "I was at home and everything was fine. I was about to feed my pet snake when he started choking and screaming about some sort of terrible towel following it around."
Rumor has it that the next target will be some sort of bird, a Seahawk. All of the victims report trying to peek behind a giant steel curtain shortly before their incidents. As a result, the following warning has been issued to all animals: Peek behind a steel curtain, get hit by THE BUS. GO STEELERS !

To all you great northwest growers... I actually grew up in Kirkland (east of Seattle). I kind of wish I lived there now, when I consider my climate for pumpkins.... anyway...

Gee, I wonder if this will "predict" where the next record will come from, the northwest (Washington, Oregon, etc.) or Steeler country... (Pennsylvania, Ohio, etc.)

one, two, three, four, five...if my calculations are correct, pumpkin growers make up 3/4 of the total population of the world that thinks the Seahawks stand a chance on Sunday.
Go Steelers!
P.S. Steelers fans grow the biggest pumpkins.

Let's make this interesting. I have a 1097.5 Beachy seed that says the Seahawks win the superbowl. If there are any Steeler fans out there willing to put up a seed of EQUAL QUALITY, let me know. I will choose the person who is brave enough to do this wager with me on Saturday, Feb.4 around 5 pm Pacific time. GO SEAHAWKS

The Steelers are scheduled, to eat pumpkin pie, from Spangler, Pa. and rare Sea Hawk breasts for Sunday's 9 AM breakfast. Desert will be a half pint, of Penn State Ice Cream. They are relaxed and authorized, to sleep in, Sunday.
By three PM the 14% Hawk Feather Nitrogen will be adjusted, by the carbs, in the Ice Cream. The pumpkin pie was included so they would have a color reference and know when, to stop, kickin ass. What ever comes out will be good, for the playing field even if it does get a bit messy.

Go Seahawks!!!!! I grew up a Browns fan so I have no lover for the Steelers. For all you Pennsy football fans I have some pity. I know many of you would like some form of vengeance for the Monday night game the last time the Hawks played a Pennsy team, but it will have to wait for some time in the future. I will admit that Pittsburgh is a better team than Philly this year, but that Seahawks are a better team than they have ever been before. I think it will be a pretty good game, both have great coaches who have been here before, but I feel the Seahawks just have more tools than the Steelers. It will be close but the Seahawks win. If I am wrong it will be becuase of something going wrong on special teams for the Hawks. You saw it here first.

I will up the ante and throw in an 848 Mackenzie ,04 squash seed (grew the world record squash). If there are no takers, I must assume that the Steeler support is not as sound as it's made out to be. (Read 14 posts up)

Hi Jake, I don't have very many hot seeds to pick from but would you be willing to make your wager against my 1367.5 Rose?....let me know if you think it's a fair bet?...cheers, Bill

Hi Bill, I have grown the 1367.5 which resulted in my 1033 '04. I still have a 1367.5 seed left. I'm not necesarily after "hot" seeds, just seeds which, in my opinion, have good potential and could help me in my breeding plans. Of course a "hot" seed would make the wager interesting. There is, of course, the remotest possibility that the SEAHAWKS will lose and I lose the two seeds. So far there are very few confident STEELER fans out there.
We'll see by Saturday evening Bill.

OK Jake, I have very little to offer for your bet, but since nobody else has stepped up, I'll pretty much put everything I can on the table. I know it's not up to what you're offering, but maybe if you're confident enough in your Seahawks...
1048 Companion 802 Dill 775 Dill (grew a 980+ that was 23% heavy in '05) and a pumpkin decal for your car/truck.
It's all I've got, if I had more available I'd throw it in too.
Go Steelers!

Well folks, it looks as if there were only three Steeler fans confident enough to make me an offer on the wager. None of the seeds, however, were of equal guality to the 1097.5 Beachy and the 848 MacKenzie Sq. seeds that I was putting up. Ryan, the decal almost did it. Bill, your's was a good offer but I already have that seed. Craig, thanks for your offer. Tomorrow Seattle will come to a standstill to celebrate a Seahawk victory. GO SEAHAWKS, GO

I am a retired high school teacher who was willing to put up the only expensive pumpkin seed I own ( purchased at auction here at BP.COM )I believe you'll see that it was the Seahawk supporter who was scared off....right, Jake????

You're right Bill, Seattle will be quite tame tomorrow. Congrats to the Steelers and their fans. Any way you look at it, we are mighty proud of the Seahawks. Now we on the west coast can return to our laid back lifestyles that set us apart from the rest of the country. You will hear from us again in October. Bill, remember the original wager was for EQUAL QUALITY seed. IMHO, the seed you offered up didn't fit that criteria. I don't think any one can argue that.
The Phoenix will rise from Vancouver Island this year.
Cheers y'all, it's been a hoot. Jake

Was I watching the same game? I didn't see any zebras knocking balls from the hands of the Seahawks recievers. I din't see anybody knocking the balls out of their hands. Must have been invisible zebras.
Can't blame the officials for noticing that the recievers were out of bounds, and you can't blame them for Pittsburgh making the plays when they needed them. Yes, a couple of calls went against them that maybe shouldn't have, but those plays really didn't affect the outcome of the game.
Me and the invisible Zebras are going to enjoy the win with a toast to a great season. Now let's go for two in a row!
