I would like something that is well priced to monitor my hoop house temperatures this spring. 300'range would be best for me. Not too darn expensive either. It would be nice to measure humidity if possible. How about multiple inputs from several sources. Is there such a device on the market that can do this at low cost

Russ, my lovely wife bought me the latest Oregon Scientific, radio controlled weather station available. It has several functions including weather forcasting (based on barometric pressure) humidity, and has the ability to have multiple sensors including soil temperature probes. Check it out at http://www2.oregonscientific.com/shop/product.asp?cid=2&scid=4&pid=79 and the optional additional sensors at http://www2.oregonscientific.com/shop/browse.asp?cid=2&scid=7
A sweet system that I will be using this year. As for price, it all depends on what you want.....usually you get what you pay for so price is not that important.

I've got an Oregon scientific monitor that my wife bought for me from "The Future Shop" I doubt she paid more than $100 for it. it came with just one wireless remote unit that came with it but it's capable of handling 3. It's got temp. and humidity. It also has a satellite clock on the home unit. It was an eye opener to be able to monitor conditions in the greenhouses at any time of the day. A few things that I found were that by keeping a large pail of water in the green-house you really do help keep the temp. down during sunny conditions and it retains heat during the night. A blanket over the green-house made a 10 degree difference at night too. Mind-you see the temps sky rocket on a warm sunny afternoon, even with thermal openers, was kind of stressful.

There was a like 20$ one at Home Depot before Christmas. It was the weather channel one. It has humidity, high/low, other stuff, and is dead on accurate. For 100 or so $ you could get 4-5 (they only take one sensor each). I like it alot and am now watching the temp. in a heated cat house I built. AleX Noel.

I have been disappointed in Oregon Scientific. Within two seasons several of mine were shot. I'm back to walking out and checking the temps.....gives me an excuse to go out more often.
