As many or all of you in the US expecting a bubble from Eddy know, Eddy sent me a box full of bubbles for me to distribute in the US for him. I think the reason was so that he didn’t have to fill out a customs for EACH bubble, just one for the entire box. I was more than happy to help Eddy out, as he is a very generous man to many people, myself included. It has been a couple weeks now and there are reports of at least 6 different bubbles not making it to their destinations.

When I received the box from Eddy, I took it to my small town post office and mailed everything from there all at once. There was some debate between the counter woman and the post master woman if there would be any problems sending these within the US, with US postage, from a US post office, but with a return address to Eddy in Canada. After a short debate they decided it most likely wouldn’t create a problem. We then mailed them all out.

I had heard that there were a couple bubbles that had not made it yet to their destination and could believe it was possible for one or two to become delayed or maybe even lost. I have recently learned that there were at least 6 missing and this to me indicates some other problem beyond just lost in the mail. I went and discussed it with the postmaster at my post office today and she clearly recalls the box of bubbles and the situation. She believes there are a couple possible situations that could have happened. First that maybe they are sitting at the recipients post office waiting for more postage paid or secondly that they are on their way back to Eddy’s and that maybe they are there waiting postage or maybe even stuck at customs. She suggests that those missing their bubbles should contact their local post office to see if they are in holding there. She also mentioned that Eddy should do the same thing at his post office and maybe explain the situation there. They could also help Eddy by searching customs for him or telling him how to look in customs.

I am very saddened by this situation and hope that all bubbles arrive and that they arrive before planting season. As it has been jokingly mentioned to me already, that I have kept these valuable seeds from Eddy for my own personal use, I want everyone to know that I wouldn’t even dream of such a thing. I can see how this situation may cast a dishonest light across me and its very upsetting thinking that some may be questioning my character. It is my hopes that this situation becomes resolved soon and that my reputation is restored.

Mike, Eddy: I would be surprised if anyone is questioning either one of your morals or intergrity. If they do, then it is obvious that they have not done there homework on either one of you. A big thanks should be given to you both for making this effort to get these seeds into our hands. After 9/11 things changes and things like this are much more of a risk (we new this well before the seeds were even removed from the pumpkins). Again thanks for your efforts.

Thanks guys. Also to anyone wondering if I know if theirs was in the box, I really have no idea. There were sooo many bubbles and I looked at each one for only a split second when I handed it to the clerk. I rember seeing a couple Heavy hitter names and thought.... "darn I should have taken a moment to take a couple addresses down" LOL.

In my opinion, future bubbles mailed from within the US should have a US return address to avoid even the appearance of needing a customs check. Maybe in the future each bubble should have Mike's return address...
Just a thought.

No we have not distributed the Reiss seeds yet. I dont even know If Martin has mailed them to Eddy yet. But I think your right that the ruturn address should be to me in the future. I think a return address to Germany would be a VERY bad idea...LOL

Mike, if I didn't love you like a brother, I would have never sent the seeds, I trust you Explicitly!!!!!
Anyone that did not get their bubble the first time, will get them the second time,(i can refill every bubble) Did we make a mistake with the return address, Probably, so we will fix it.
The Reiss seeds have not arrived here yet, but I will let you all know.

Update
I was away the last 10 days, and when I picked up the mail today I had 2 bubbles returned for wrong address, so we can chalk this up to HUMAN ERROR, I screwed up, so 2 down and 4 to go.
