Oh boy! Just found out I have 2 hernias yesterday. When asked by my doc what I could of done to cause this you can only imagine the look on his face after telling him about our hobby. I bet he'd never heard that one before. Guess I'll have to stop thinking I'm a human hoist.

lol I'm 28 and I've already had back and knee surgery. Skiing off cliffs hasn't killed me yet... maybe my fate is to get crushed by a giant pumpkin? Well, it would be cool to have on my tombstone. Seriously though duffman, make sure you go down to Moe's first this year and round up enough troops!

Monty didn'you bust yourself up last year too?

I had a couple of friends come over and they help me lift my pumpkins. About a month later, one of them has a hernia and I wonder where he got that from?

That's why I find some strangers to help. Strangers can't sue you for a pumpkin related injury. Plus I have nice neighbors with a forklift that doesn't get hernias! AleX Noel.

Yeah, Orange, I tore the tricep insertion tendon in my right arm while turning over my 684 after it split. Also ended up with ulnar neuropothy in my left arm from resting my elbow on the desk while reading posts at Bigpumpkins.com!

Funny thing is my right arm has healed...the left still gives me grief...go figure.

17 years on the Topsfield lifting team, no major injuries other than sore _________ fill in the blank (back, hands, arms, legs) knock on wood, a friend of mine had his finger nail torn off during a lift once, ouch!

Let's see. . . I got a blister when I didn't wear socks with my boots in the patch. I broke a nail pounding stakes, and I hurt my brain when I was studying pumpkin genetics. Still ticked off about the broken nail . . .
