This is my first year of growing the true giants. I have bought the books, chatted via email with many growers, have received proven seeds etc. I am looking for somewhere around 400 lbs with nice color and shape for myself. If I get lucky, I may inch near the North Dakota record of 615 lbs.

I told Jerry Rose today at the beginners seminar that I may not be able to beat him, but I want to grow one that will at least make him sweat :)

If I don't grow at least a 300lb pumpkin I will consider it a total failure. My goal is to grow at least a 500 lb pumpkin. I'm not really sure what my potential for pumpkin size is so I'm not expecting to grow 1000lb pumpkin this year and maybe not in the near future. But this year will help me to determine my future potential. I would love to grow a 800lb pumpkin. I know I have the seeds to grow a 800lb pumpkin. It will all have to do with my climate and soil. If I fine toon my soil good enough and and the weather is just right I might just get lucky.
If I grow 1500 lb pumpkin please disregard the previous paragraph. And then I woke up! lol

To get a new PB. That will be good enough for me. My PB's are 1011# for pumpkins, 207.6# for watermelons & 44# for cabbage. Good luck to all in 2006. I hope you all reach your goals.

I always strive for a personal best, you cant always win a weigh off but you can always gain personal satisfaction no matter how big youre fruit is as long as you gave it youre all to the very end. Dave

I hope to get over 1000 lbs. This will be my third year growing and my PB is 721.5 grown in my first year. Honestly after frowing a 700 pounder I thought the 1000 would be easy. Not so! This can be a very frustrating hobby. Anything that can go wrong will. You have to be tuff and hang in there. I only person I have to beat is myself however I would like to win the local weigh off John

My goal is to have anything make it to maturity without the racoons, deer, bugs or slugs eating it up or the cows trampling through the patch! Second goal is for pumpkin past 700#. Third goal is a 160# watermelon and 30" sunflower head.

Because of generous growers Monty and Michelle, I have the genetics for a 600 - 1000 lb pumpkin. I'm hoping for 700+ (that's a stretch) Whatever happens, I'm going to leave it to the Lord and try my best. Praise the Lord and pass the Calcium. Greg

well, I'm concentrating more on work for marriage prep, but I'm still gonna grow one plant again. Heck, I guess I gotta beat 861 lbs since that is my best, 1000 is my ultimate goal since no one has ever come even close to it in southern california. Jimmy
