I just purchased a commercial cold frame/hothouse and love it. I've built other ones, but they were bulky and I had no place to store them for 10 months. This company has many sizes (I bought the Junior Seed house). Being that my seedlings need protection only from about May 10th to May 30th, this size is all that is needed. Has vents/screens and very durable material. It folds up and can be stored flat. I don't work for this company or have any vested interest. It is simply the best product for my needs. all right, which one of you guys bought all the smallest ones, lol! these are very interesting 'houses (like 10 types!) and everybody should check them out. i myself have "unfortunately" made about a dozen wooden-framed and plastic-hooped greenhouses about 6'X 8'X 4' high, but if ever one of those gets worn out, i will return to this site...Thanks! eric

Eric, you can call you a lucky one with the wooden frame houses. I had a plastic one like the model "spring-house" and yes it's very portable, it was gone overnight by the wind. By the wind, not by the storm. All ropes were in the ground with the teared out edges of the plastic. Found the Rest 100 yards away on the cow-meadow. Thanks Him, there were no pumpkins planted. I be fed up with that plastic s**t, sorry

yeah, Mother Nature's meanest weapon, the Wind.
had my share of close calls even last year! my 845 Bobier plant. my greenhouse over it. the wind must have raised-up the end of the 'house where the seedling was, pushed the 'house back about 6 feet, set it down and waited and watched until i came home. no logical reason for that seedling to not have been sheared right off. same day, 677 Catapano seedling. wind pushed the 'house about two feet; one foot further than i would have liked! a 1/2 inch wooden dowel in the ground at the seedling stopped it cold. miracle! i was distraught at first that night, and gleeful not long after. i was lucky. no matter how you greenhouse your plants, put stakes in the ground behind the structure and weight it down! ps---i had just not gotten TO securing the 'houses---that was supposed to be done THAT night. eric

Almost the same thing happened to me last year, a 1068 was under the wood frame of a house, flat. I moved it, fixed it, and it came up to grow my 720.6 PB! I'm so glad I saw it out my window that morning. It was raining and SO windy and I ran out no shirt no shoes as I just woke up. Good thing though. AleX Noel.

Since the disaster with the plastic hoophouse I use wood frames saved with 30 inch earth nailes. They are steady like a German Oak!
