The Port Elgin Pumpkinfest Team wants to send a HUGE thank you out to Dave McCallum. Dave has played a vital role in the seminar over the years and has deicided to step down as MC. He will be missed! Daves dedication to the event has helped make it what it is today and we are sad to see him go. Thanks for all the great years Dave!

Dave has left a very large pair of shoes to fill and a suitable replacement will be hard to find. Much like Tremor I agree you need someone with a unique style and accent. I suggest Larry The Cable Guy, think about the motivation he could provide "OK you punkin growers hike dem britches up and GIT-ER-DONE"

Like Ken, I think Russ would be a logical choice. But is that what HE wants? He takes charge behind the scenes now. Is Russ interested in exchanging the brain for the mouth?

Larry the "GIT-R-DONE!" Cable Guy would be good but the seminar would probably have to move south of the Mason-Dixon line to pull it off!

failing that i think a mc that could really rock the house would be our own jim "hollywood" beauchemin of new hampshire fame.

jim took over the mc roll at topsfield when hugh retired and did a great job, hes a natural born speaker.

I'd like to thank Dave for all his hard work. His dedication to the sport over the years is appreciated by all us growers. He should be considered one of the next inductees into the GPC's Hall of Fame. His work with the Port Elgin weigh off, Niagara seminar & the GPC is a testimonial of the dedication he's put into the sport (are you listening Dave Stelts). For his replacement, I think either Russ or Jim B would make great replacements, but I think it's time a grower from another region took over this role & Jim really fits the bill. Just my opinion though.
