Yeah I need a little help on figuring out when should I start indoors in order to be ready for the state fair? INDIANA STATE FAIR

seed start should be any where from 135-150 days depending on weather in your location. pollination should happen 60-80 days be for weigh off these are estimates you mileage may vary.

Like matfox said work your way backwards from your state fair date, but you can start earlier, but might have to harvest before weighoff, your pumpkin or pumpkins if well shaded, and dry will loose about a pound a day.Rog

Josh Im gonna try to start my fair pumpkin on the 15 of april and put it in the ground when it has its second true leaf. It will need a greenhouse/hothouse for protection. you can build one out of scrap lumber and plastic if it gets really cold a heater or light of some kind may be needed. Steve
