Are you frustrated with the bogus pumpkin seed seller on ebay, who is fraudulantly selling Big Max seeds using an altered picture of Bruce Whittier's big pumpkin. Adding insult to injury this phony seller also dis's Atlantic Giants in his ad and calls them butt ugly. That's the part that really fires me up!

Now you can do something about it. Help me spam the category with cheap pumpkin seed ads and put him out of business. Here is the ad I just placed:

I will resumit this ad once a day. If five other growers also put an ad in on a daily basis, we can make a big impact on his sales. (be sure to dis his ad in your ad...)

I'm not sure this is really worth the effort but god it feels so righteous! So get righteous and help me advertise to the ebay world his poor judgement and questionable character.

I'd tell you to be careful, Ebay has rules against copying the content of other people's ads, but we all know how much Ebay cares about that kind of thing. What do you plan on doing when bidding reaches the point of being higher than buddies seeds?

I didn't technically copy his ad. The content of my ad and the offer is all mine and perfectly legitimate. If the bidding goes high, I make some money to supplement my righteous indignation!!

I think that is tasteful enough to not warrant anything from Ebay, because it is true.

If I had some seeds to sell, I would do this too. The only thing better is if Bruce Whittier sold some on Ebay, and used the same picture of his pumpkin that the other guy is using.

If Ebay complains and investigates, give them the threads of this discussion.

The seeds listed on Ebay are from my pumpkin Bubbles (487 pounds) and are 1048 Companion x Self. The 1048 Companion is 810 Dill x 801.5 Stelts. I also grew a 997 pounder on the same plant that produced Bubbles. See the following link for pics: http://zunino.net/champions.htm

May I suggest adding the genetics to the listing and perhaps that picture link as well,,,get the buyers thinking out there it may help discourage the fakes.

You WILL sell some seeds and actually be surprised, my prediction anyway.

Keep in mind that the bogus seller on Ebay relists his ad once or twice a day. He must have sold 1,000 seeds by now. I'll check twice a day and relist mine each time I see that he has relisted.... As long as it's raining outside, I'm on a mission.

Bubbles has got to be one of the most beautiful AGs ever grown (Vince's daughter is adorable too!). Never mind beating djmurphy. List more seeds & I'll buy some to grow them!

The only thing that bugs me about this form of retaliation is that eBay comes out ahead regardless. Truthfully; they are more like the road builder & we're just trying to get a delinquent driver off the road.

Good one Cliff, Cliff is offering four seeds from an offspring of one of my crosses for 25 cents on Ebay. He's undercutting my offer by 50% I guess I have to watch all those seeds selling for 3-4 hundred bucks a pop at auctions and just dream....

All my fantasies of instant riches from pushing pumpkin seeds are evaporating. Now if a few more growers will get their ads up on Ebay. I wanna see one for 10 cents....

a) everyone should be sure to get the bigpumpkins.com name out there in their ad. So the people visiting EBAY will come here and see how it's really done.

b) We should pool the winnings and have a prize for the members who keep diaries. Or just donate it to the website. I would put some seeds for sale up too but I am not comfortable with selling seeds I got from other growers.

The miscreant continues to post a new ad on ebay once a day - apparently he has not got the message yet. It's time to reach for bigger guns. I will invoke the assistance of the pumpkin gods! They have little tolerance for slanderous defamation of their favorite cucurbita!

I have warred with moles and other persistent vermin in the patch and prevailed. It is time to rid the fields of ebay from this parasite. Time for Part Cinco. heh, heh....

On a different tangent, I noticed in another auction for big max seeds that states: "Big Max seeds are the choice of professional pumpkin contestants", Sounds like what is written on the big max seed packet.

Most of us have tried to bid on his seeds after we posted a complaint with him, and he barred us from bidding on his seeds. One guy got through, won the seeds, posted negative feedback and got negative in return. These guys that have seeds to sell are taking a little poke at him by explaining in a nice way that he is a slimy, dead in the gutter, low-life, souless bastard that is ripping people off. Did I mention possible animal molestor? lol
