As much space as you can allow the plant to grow in is the answer here as once a marrow has reached it's external physical size and stops growing it puts on some weight internally. Once your 1st marrow has reached this external physical size you can then set a second Marrow and continue this for several Months. The bigger the plant the more Marrows can be set and your chances of growing that real big one increase with every set. Some Giant Marrow plants will take up the same amount of area as an AG Plant and should be grown in exactly the same way. The only difference is that many Marrows can be grown on the 1 plant and get to their maximum potential in a short space of time.
