This was neat. To me, it just said that no matter what, if you have an oppurtunity to help, then help. When Mike Frantz asked for donations for an auction to benefit the state fair, I went to my room and found a couple good seeds to send. One I had a second of, I was never going to grow it, maybe a good cross sometime, but really it was nothing to send it in. Another, was a more desireable seed, I only had one, and I was considering growing it in years to come, or using it in a trade sometime soon. It was hard to see go. I just asked myself: Am I really going to grow this? No way. So I sent it. I didn't think much of it, but I just hoped it at least raised some good money for the fair. Still though, the thought that I maybe should have kept it occasionally got into my head. I never really wanted it back though. Anyway, a couple days ago, I got the NHGPGA Newsletter. It was the spring one, with the seed dist. In it I found, you guessed it, a seed from the same pumpkin that I had been somewhat iffy about sending to Mike. To my surprise and delight, I squeezed the packet, and in it there was not one good seed, but two. My generosity had paid off. So recap: have a good seed, donate it, raises money for a good cause, then get two back. Not bad to me! Hopefully this will get even more people than there already are to take a risk of losing something you want, but don't need, to help someone else in a big way. AleX Noel. P.S. I am interested to know what the lots went for in that auction, I was in Florida.

I'm not sure but if i remember correctly i think i saw a couple top notch NH crosses drop into Alex's Newsletter envelope. 1133Demers or 1000Rodonis or maybe both seem to come to mind? Everyone got top notch seeds with their 2006 March newsletter! Thanks for being a member of the NHGPGA Alex!!! Jim

For the record, my above post was a joke. No, I didn't get any seeds in my Newsletter but I always swap 1 on 1 with my NH buddies. Any chance I can take a shot at Jim-B, I will. Jim
